" The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth."
-John F. Kennedy
Most of us will agree that an educated person gets better opportunities in life. It is easier for him to become successful and realize his dreams as compared to someone who is uneducated.
ROOH primarily focuses on education for those who are mentally endowed but economically poor. These are some of children to whom we sponsors.
Jasleen: The orphan girl who lost her parents to a tragic holocaust, has the ‘voice of a nightingale’ that has the capability to leave the audience spellbound and ‘commendable intelligence’ that can make adults wonder and that’s not it, she is ‘fascinating debater’ and ‘astonishing artist’.She also has a very good command over the language and can fluently speak English, Hindi and Punjabi. She has won number of awards for the uncountable talents she has.
Pankaj: One of the geniuses at Nivedita Public School, who has got such a passion for books that he’s not bothered whether the book he gets is discarded, was thrown away or donated. He also takes a keen interest in volleyball. He wishes to see himself as a successful bank manager someday but with the ‘little that his family makes’ affording education itself alone seems impossible, that he could even consider buying a volleyball for himself.
Dheeraj: Class 8th student at Nivedita Public School. He's a student with high intellectual abilities and a good sportsman spirit as well. He aspires to serve the nation by joining defence services one day but today, that’s almost a dream because he is ‘Economically Backward’. Living in a family where let alone having a meal thrice a day is an issue than to think of something else.
Harsh: Having an ambition to join defence when he grows up, Harsh who just turned 10, studies in class 5th . He is fond of playing indoor games likes carrom and chess, and the mere thought of playing table tennis overwhelms him. Where feeding a family of four, with what his ‘father brings home is itself insufficient‘ than to even consider sending him off to school.
Neha daughter of Mr.gaursingh.She is studying in 9th class. Her father’s mere income is 3000 per month not sufficient to pay her fee. Although Neha is an amazing dancer and has left people mesmerized with her moves but she doesn’t has a right platform to showcase her talents. She has a great longing to participate in cultural activities.
Palak is a chirpy and an enthusiastic student of class 3rd .She is very intelligent and brilliant in thoughts. She has adream to become a great doctor and protect the lives of people at this tender age, whereas children of her age thinks only of playing and having fun . Her father a daily wage worker is struggling hard who finds difficult to fulfill the necessities of his family .
Prince: A generous and an altruistic human by heart. Presently, studying in class 8th, dreams to be an engineer and study at some renowned government college like NIT's or IIT's. Besides studying, he loves to read newspapers and cantillating songs but with the ‘meagre Income’ of his father's, he cannot even afford the school fee.
Shivani a girl of 9th standard has a dream to become an IPS officer. Her father is a mess worker and his less income is ebbing her dreams. As today’s children are tomorrows citizens, her failure will be a great loss to our country.
